Goal Statement: It’s my professional goal to enhance medical learning experiences with health care simulation using experiential learning frameworks and develop a way to foster the same learning attitudes in other learning contexts.
GRADING PLAN
Note: Based on 7. Meta-cognitive Action/Reelection/Narrative/Anecdotal

Activities are assigned with an activity due date. Students receive credit or no credit based on completion of learning activity and participation in reflection discussions. Connecting learners to thinking process occurs in reflection cycle. Student receives 100% for completing both completion requirement and reflection requirement. Each requirement is worth 50% of activity grade. Grades are averaged for a final classroom grade.
Completion Requirement: Completion of assignment. Student receives full credit upon completion of learning activity. 50% of activity grade.
Reflection Process Requirement: Teacher facilitated reflection process that connects learner with content objectives. Student receives full credit when displaying continuous and motivated participation measured by attentiveness, verbal, nonverbal and written communication, and effort. Struggling students are given flexibility in this area; however, must continue to display effort to receive full credit. 50% of activity grade.
Teacher begins reflection process by stating activity topic.
Teacher asks group open ended questions which are general but related to learning activity. Exp. How do you feel about the learning activity? What parts of the activity do you feel are most important today?
Teacher publishes learning objective/s and connects learners with content by restating requesting learners to present their activity.
Teacher then asks closed ended questions related to purpose of their activity decision. Teacher then asks how their activity is related to learning objectives.
Learning activity objectives are reinforced with summery.
Verbal or written assessment to validate learning outcomes is given.
Struggling Student Engagement Plan: Learners who are less participative may potentially be struggling with content. Ensure all learners are engaged by directing questions to individual’s wo have not contributed as much in terms of asking questions. Hold one-on-one discussions with learner or groups of learners who are continuing to struggle with reflection process or display non-participatory behavior..
